Our Story

We’re two best buds who have a passion for cold brew and health. We used to be roommates and we found ourselves bonding over making cold brew together, testing different blends, and flavors. Then enjoying the good times that followed. But, as chapters end, new ones begin. 

While we were no longer roommates, naturally the friendship continued, and the cold brew kept brewing and kept flowing. One day, Drew texted Jamie that he must try brewing Cold Brew… but with decaf beans. Jamie replied back enthusiastically! Mentioning that he was just on the verge of texting him the same thing. Both founders needed to solve their own problem: Jamie was too jittery from the unintentional yet incredibly self-inflicted caffeine overconsumption. All while Drew wasn’t sleeping as well as night due to his cold brew habit. 

Thus, the all-day cold brew was born! 

Founder Cold Brew Routines

Jamie:

1. Decaf to start the day (because science!)
2. 1 or 2 full caffs in the morning (some days are easier than others)
3. 1 or 2 decafs in the afternoon (building River Cow while surviving on River Cow)

Drew:

1. 1 full caff in the morning (electricity straight to the dome)
2. 1 decaf or half caff (in the works!) in the afternoon (^what he said)

How did River Cow get its name?

Ahh yes. A wonderful question indeed. You see, many moons ago, Drew, Jamie, and a few friends were floating the Lower Colorado River (affectionately known as the LoCo) just southeast of Austin, Texas. 

The day was hot… The water? Refreshing. Jamie was working up a mighty sunburn, one to be remembered. When off to the right something revolutionary was happening… 

Towards the river bank, there was a cow, standing… in the river. Standing in the water as if it had all the business in the world being there. Steadfast in its conviction, almost certainly thinking, “this, this is where I belong.” 

Jamie looked to Drew, Drew looked back, and the rest, is as they say, “history.”
